Nats president must go: Vaile

Nats president must go: Vaile :

"Mr Vaile says the federal party room is 'rock solid' in its opposition to the plan – although he conceded that federal MP Bruce Scott, one of the architects of the plan, put the case for change to an emergency meeting last night."

I think the whole point of a democracy is no voice is louder than another and no one more powerful than another. The elected representatives of the people are chosen to govern. They presumably have equal positions according to their rank but being the boss still means you rule by consensus and consultation. Parties are able to discuss and debate their wishes and I should have thought everyone could have their tuppence worth but some suitable forum would be established to decide the relative advantages and disasvantages of any proposed changes. Telling people? How old are they? How experienced are they? Obviously they need a good ding dong discussion based on evidence and well founded argument, but it would appear pretty healthy to be able to look a various models and what they might mean. Acting rather than reacting is fine when you seek change.
