Condolences flow over Kovco blunder

Condolences flow over Kovco blunder :

"'Even though your Dad came to Australia with the mix-up, he was looked after by my brother at the time,' she told Ms Sinanovic in a three-way conversation on community station Radio RPH.

'We think about you all the time. We know what the mix-up was like and it was bad for us and we understand how bad it would be for you as well.'

Pte Kovco's father-in-law David Small said his family shared Ms Sinanovic's family's pain."

Well, it would appear that a quick thinking and innovative radio station has come up with a viable and compassionate way of trying to resolve the indignity and lack of humanity over the Pte. Kovko and Juso Sinanovic horror story. It really is horrible, but the radio station has thought to connect the two grieving families so that our community could honour them and treat them as though they mean something and have feelings. It would appear both sides have appreciated the chance to speak directly with each other. Thank goodness the radio station thought to salve the wounds. Community radio really is about the community and we are the community and we want these people to know we care. I wish I had been able to hear it.
