Canberra to direct talks on climate :
"One of the most pressing tasks would be to find ways to help developing nations stem their greenhouse emissions growth and set long-term frameworks for action, he said.
To that end, market mechanisms, such as carbon trading, would be a key theme of the discussions."
We do need to have global co operation and collaboration. We all breathe the same air. It's odd there will be no binding targets but perhaps the choice of words needs to be more carefully considered. Everyone can co operate according to the level of support within their country and given this is a global issue and air and climate change are with us all, I do not think people will be against it unless they are not feeling well. We have to do something now and we have to look after our home now. Systems and education, raising awareness and rehabilitating ourselves might cost money and so some countries might have trouble implementing structures. It would seem clear then that we need to have realistic, achievable goals which have been negotiated at the table. Goals which will change things but which everyone can suscribe to and then some countries might be able to do better than others. Team effort, folks.
