Scientists are cleared of blame for drug trial that went wrong -

Scientists are cleared of blame for drug trial that went wrong - : "A working group is also being set up by the Government to examine the transition from animal tests to studies in humans involving biological agents with novel actions. It will look at how trials can be conducted using new drugs that have a “highly speciesspecific action”, drugs that are directed towards the immune system and the broader science surrounding monoclonal antibody treatment."

The British have been swift to take action and have tested the drug given to the men and are making further tests. They have also organised a committee to look at the protocol for human testing of drugs. This case of the 6 men is very disturbing. We saw Ryan Wilson on the news last night and he is only 20-21 and so nice, so strong spiritually, and so together. He just doesn't deserve anything like this when he was trying to help others and put some money in his bank account as he has MS.Trial patients are usually in a better position to be helped when things go wrong but the onset of the reactions seemed to be quite sudden and severe. The doctors did really well to save all of the men as far as I can tell. It would be brilliant if the world could nut out a solution to this problem. His fingers are so black. It just seems horrible for him to have to lose them and maybe his toes, I can't remember now because I was struck with how he was dealing with it in such a down to earth manner and I was thinking how inspiring he was for someone with all his woes and worries. I'd actually like to think we could make something good come out of this for him. We can do terrible things...but we can be an amazing source of inspiration and ingenuity too.
