Private sector considers building SA nuclear plant.

Private sector considers building SA nuclear plant. :

"The Chamber of Mines and Energy believes there is enough interest in the private sector to build a pilot plant in the state's north.

Prime Minister John Howard says be happy to see Australia develop a nuclear power industry, if it is economically viable."

It's April and all of a sudden all these building things are happening and are being touted which are changing our state irrevocably. I wrote about ti yesterday. So now there are plans for a nuclea reactor which out Thinker in Residence seems to semi endorse. The long term impact, as he says, needs to be considered. While we are waiting and seeing will they go ahead and build it anyway because that seems to be how things are done at the moment. Float the idea, wait a bit and then do as you please. Do we want a nuclear reactor? Is it a good idea? What discussion should we be having? Three or four sentences are not going to make for a solid consideration of the proposal.
