Plant glows when thirsty

The Australian: Plant glows when thirsty :

"The students said that they have genetically modified a plant using a green fluorescent marker gene from jellyfish, so that it 'lights up' when it is stressed as a result of dehydration."

It is so astounding that a gimmicky thing can suddenly put GM into a better light. I don't like the thought of GM crops AT ALL. I want proper , untampered food. When it comes to plants glowing when they need water, I am thinking... great, I want ones. I want pot plants to glow when I need to water them. It's amazing they have used things from jellyfish to make the plants glow. Researchers have such a novel approach.
