Island bark may hold diabetes key :
"Melbourne biotechnology company Dia-B Tech believes it has found a natural alternative to the anti-diabetes drug insulin in the bark of a plant found in Tongan rainforests."
Our South Pacific Island people seem to have a wealth of natural remedies at their fingertips which we have never known about. Nations have survived healthily and we have never thought to work with them much. It's the basis of great sharing of knowledge and a way we can incorporate the best of both worlds into our daily living. Some of our practices are beneficial to them and some of their knowledge can be helpful to us. It makes for genuine conversations. Anything which will help diabetes will be useful to us since it has become so prevalent in our modern society. We still need to look at changing what we do so that diabetes isn't a permaent fixture in our way of life.
