This kindergarten for pandas in China is the first of its kind and there is a video to watch on this site. They are just so cute! China is trying this idea to help encourage a better reproduction rate. We had a really delightful news item on them tonight where they were sliding down slides by themselves and climbing up on seats and smacking each other. They really were like little children. The Chinese are hoping the greater social skills developed will enable them to find a mate . Some will stay in zoos and some are going to be returned to the wild. We have programmes similar to this but not as cute! Our animal experts have a good history of helping our native animals survive by creating well thought out survival sanctuaries . The creatures released to the wild are still fostered as they make their own way. I hope all foes well in China because Pandas are another thing I should hate us to be responsible for losing from the planet.
