Jana Pittman

Pittman sweeps away doubts and fears :

"We saw it with Jana Pittman last night, though we soon saw plenty of happier emotions. Pittman was the hottest of favourites, but she was bedevilled by personal and physical demons. Did Australians like her? Would a hamstring betray her? Yes and no, it turned out, to her - and our - immense relief."

I do not know why, but Jana Pittman worries far too much about what others think. She appears to be what used to be called "highly strung" because the closer she is to an outstanding performance, the more emotional she becomes. She is, in many ways, very artistic and very much the fragile butterfly. Yet she is a top performing sportswoman and I think it's her artisitic temperament which puts her at odds with her public and team mates. She just needs to get out there and do what she does so well and stop tearing herself apart. She is great at what she does and we appreciate anyone who puts in a good performance. Well done, Jana. Have faith in yourself and us!!
