It's time to make our arts party go annual

The Advertiser: It's time to make our arts party go annual :

"PRESSURE is mounting for the Adelaide Festival to become an annual event in after record attendances at the yearly Womadelaide and Fringe events."

We always used to be the State for the arts. It would be nice to see a return to that kind of a focus because it's getting people out and about and with each other. People have been very enthusiastic about his year's festival and very supportive of the event. People have made an effort to get out or at least know what's on. There really has been a high level of interest and the spin offs have been in our papers and on our news. It has been good to see town packed and to have a cross section of our population represented. Whether we sustain it is up to how we involve ourselves in what was always our cultural base. We always liked the arts. We appreciate the arts and we enjoy talking about, reading about and discussing the arts. Town has been spruced up and has a good feel. It gives it a purpose if it's available for all to enjoy. Even the moonlight theatre at the Botanic Gardens has been popular this year. I think we've got our get up and go back.
