Waste Water Plant

A battle well worth the fight
How cool does our new waste water plant look? It's way down the coast at Victor Harbour which tends to be renowned for Schoolies week. Now it can be renowned for the ritzy waste water plant.

"Mr Honeyman said he and Mr Excell began to campaign for a new treatment plant because of the existing inadequate system and numerous complaints about river contamination.

"There was nothing the government could do so we started to press for recognition on a health basis and we've persevered for all these years," he said.

The community campaign by the duo and the former Resident and Ratepayers Association was made more urgent because daytrippers doubled the local population every day. "

The town and United Water can be very proud of their efforts. Just because it's functional doesn't mean it has to be industrial and dull. Now this is a novel approach to urban necessities.
