MORE INCOME FROM WATCHING THAN CATCHING?

MORE INCOME FROM WATCHING THAN CATCHING?:

"It may possibly not take long before the income from whale watching may exceed that income which possibly could be generated by whaling, if it were resumed, at least if the risk which accompanies whaling for Icelandic export markets is taken into account.'"

This was written 10 years ago and whale watchin as a local and tourist attraction here has grown even bigger. The Thames whale, even though the story had a sad ending, demonstrated so well the pleasure and joy people have from seeing whales and the way they will put themselves out if there is a chance to see a whale. So the question still stands... do more people derive more pleasure and income from WATCHING whales rather than from catching and eating them? How much money is generated from dead whales as opposed to live ones. Come on, let's look at the fiscal side of this because, in this world, it's all about money.
