Blogged off
First I couldn't access anything Blogger or blogspot. Then when I did actually get Blog it to access it, the posts wouldn't post and I still couldn't access Blogger home. Banished. I got my sites back up and any other blogspot sites, but blogging was a blog no no last night. Instead I listened to a programme about blogs and podcasting and it ended up being very interesting. It was discussing how blogs and podcasting were changing the impact and dynamics of radio and television in our lives and how blogs and podcasting were becoming popular because they were focussed, you could select, you could be involved. It was no longer a case of having to listen to or watch what was on the menu. You were, in fact, more able to access what you needed at any give time, or indeed, drive the dynamics of these media. Well, made me feel quite important, but also made be realise we are going through some big changes again in society and they are actually good for us. There are so many bloggers out there and their blogs are as different as they are. Podcasting is making so much more tailored information available and the podcast pioneers have driven the impact of it quite far in a short time. Radio has migrated easily to the Net and in many ways it has done it the world of good if the station knows it has an international audience. If nothing else we are showing our capacity to adapt very quickly. What they didn't resolve in the discussion I was listening to was where television would sit. Maybe it's not quite time for television to change. The real impact has been in the written and audio media at present. One thing at a time! So I may have been banished from blogging, but I was certainly being educated.
