Caller dies live on radio

Caller dies live on radio:

"Disc jockey Pete Price was so worried he abandoned his show and sped to the man's house – but it was already too late."

I dare say it has happened before and we haven't heard of it. There are a lot of people all over the world who enjoy and participate in talk back radio. It has been one of the real successes of our time and has underpinned a real feeling of community. This disc jockey, in England, shows just how important and valuable these ties are between radio announcers and their listeners. Terry went silent and , on instinct, Pete Price dropped everything and went around to his house. The next door neighbour had also been listening to the show and had broken into the house on instinct. Radio binds people together in a valuable way. Pete Price is in shock, but he needs to realise, that his instincts were right and that he cared enough to race around to a listener's house and try to save him. On another occasion, he might have saved him, he might have been able to do something more than arrive when the ambulance was there. He need feel no sense of failure. He needs to take solace in the fact the man was doing something he valued and that he did not die alone. This is one of life's great stories, even if it has a sad ending.
