Crows, Port semi-final sold out. :
"More than 51,000 people will be at Football Park to see either Port or the Crows through to the preliminary final against West Coast at Subiaco next weekend."
I can't remember Adelaide being so tuned in and excited by football since the Crows won two premierships in a row. The whole city lifted and the joy was tangible. Now the cheer and interest has put the lights back in people's eyes and brought back an enthusiasm for a sport which Adelaide has always loved and then lost because of the AFL took over and we only had two teams. Local football is starting to pick up again and it's bringing that sense of community focus, fresh air and exercise back. The families are getting right into it again. Everyone in Adelaide always had a team to follow. So, yes, the semi final is sold out and those with tickets are buccling over with excitement and those without have organised the Saturday night friendsa and TV. They were going to put a big screen up in Elder Park and that would have been something really positive and community oriented, but the weather looks like it is going to sour. It'll not dampen the spirit. From where I sit, either team can win and either team deserves to win and I actually don't mind. Poeple are still star struck with the powerhouse match of the Power last weekend. But when the Crows decide to fly, they are really a slick, cruisy team. So..we are busy preparing...The best thing is no one is apologising for putting everything else on hold and claiming the divine right to steep themselves in the footie.
