Snowfall continues in southern Australia.:
"The weather bureau says it is almost unprecedented for snow to fall at sea level but today there were reports of snow at Phillip Island, Mornington Peninsula and in Melbourne's eastern and northern suburbs."
The southern part of Australia is getting snow and lots of it. We get snow in Victoria and NSW and we have been known to have a sprinkling on Mount Lofty here, but they have snow on the west coast of Tasmania too. As with most weather these days it's the first time of this and the first time of that and the biggest this and the most that. We are keeping in with the pattern of weather superlatives. I bet the snowfields in Victoria are doing a great trade. We happily swap our swimwear for ski wear in winter. Snow! There were a couple of days last year in Adelaide where you could smell this smell in the air and I was trying to think what it was. Then I remembered it was the smell of snow. We didn't get the snow though! What a fit we would have!! The driest state on the driest continent with snow?!
