SA drivers urged to get dirt road training. 04/08/2005. ABC News Online:
"Defensive driving instructor Gary Quartly has just completed a Drive for Life course at Crystal Brook in the mid-north, teaching people how to keep control on dirt roads and avoid accidents."
People who do specialist driving training are always able to say it is well worth it. Why do so few of us take advantage of these courses? How could they be made more accessible and what sorts of courses would get people in? I don't see them advertised. The local paper might be a start. It's the same with first aid. Once you've done it , you don't understand why everyone doesn't do it. Word of mouth can get these sorts of courses off the ground. Specialist courses are a great idea , especially in our country whose terrain can vary so much.
