Govt rejects 'armchair criticism' over Hicks.

Govt rejects 'armchair criticism' over Hicks. :

"Federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock has dismissed a former High Court judge's criticisms over the David Hicks case as those of a 'retired and armchair' critic."

Sticks and stones , Mr. Ruddock. When someone in high office resorts to insulting those who have served our country well, do you think it is a credible and valid response by someone who has been elected to govern us? People of great authority and who are extremely well credentialled have raised many issues with regard to the case of David Hicks. Whether they are sitting in at armchair and whether they are retired in no way diminishes their experience and knowledge in these matters. When a High Court justice speaks along with all the others who have spoken, I should have thought it might be wise to listen to their counsel. Rudeness shows ignorance as well as lack of social grace.
