Pineapple power

New cancer hope stems from pineapples.:

"Australian researchers are harvesting pineapples as a possible source of anti-cancer drugs, after a fluke discovery of their potential healing properties."

Well, the Queensland Institute of Medical Research is right up there again and not frightened to be creative in its approach. Those of us familiar with the uses of juices have always known pineapple juice is very good for you and very good for the digestion. Pineapple does have unique enzymes. It has fallen out of favour a bit over here and been replaced to a large extent by the tropical and "paradise" mixes. In lab tests the researchers have found the juice can stop the growth of brest, lung, bowel, and ovarian tumour cells. The best pineapple juice I have ever had in Australia was in Fremantle in Western Australia. I love pineapple juice and have been a bit disappointed it's a bit hard to find at times in this country of all places. We have long been pineapple growers. maybe this research will not only benefit those with that disgusting diease, but also bring pineapple with a big P back into our lives.
