It's really quite a simple choice Simplot or McCains

Boycott calls self-defeating: McDonald's.:

"The head of McDonald's in Australia says Tasmanian farmers promoting a boycott of the fast food chain will only end up hurting themselves."

Silly farmers again trying to supply a local market with fresh produce. Global markets, doncha know? Think globally and act locally as long as you don't farm and produce fresh, nutritious food for your community. Globalisation is consumerisation on a grand scale where the global companies dictate the price. So where does that leave us in the fresh food chain? Grow locally, eat locally and import what you can't supply yourself, that's how I see it. Washington strawberries are a godsend when I cannot get the locally grown ones because it's not our strawberry season. And... I want food that rots properly for my compost heap. I want fresh food that desintegrates in a natural fashion. So what's it to be then? You get what you are prepared to accept.
