State school students do better at university

AM - State school students do better at uni than private school classmates:

"TONY EASTLEY: New research has revealed that state school students do better at university than their private school class mates. The study shows that while private school students generally do better in their final year of school, state school students overtake them at university."

We have known this for a long time . This is why we have asked the government to be more equitable with its funding allocations to state schools. There has been quite a debate about it. Increasingly we dupe ourselves into thinking money means brains. Quite the opposite from countries where people have to pass tests to get to grammar schools and parents have to pay for education if their children do not pass those tests...unless they are of the hugely, mega wealthy royal, close to royalty, nearly royalty...I'm so rich... variety. This anomaly needs to stop. Students need an education. Not edutainment. Not patronising. Not glorified babysitting...education, because...ah, yes...the skills shortage.
