I just saw a photo of the Athenian presidential guard with the red shoes with the big black pom poms on the toes. No faces just the shoes. It reminded me of two things. There has to be an historic reason for those giant black pom poms. I wonder what it is. The second thing was one of those useless messages put into me by adults as I grew up, which probably also had a logical explanation....who knows!
