Smoking laws come into effect on Monday

Smoking will be restricted in South Australian pubs and clubs, and banned in all other enclosed public spaces, when new smoking laws come into effect on Monday.
The laws will require pubs and clubs with two or more bars to have at least one smokefree bar.
In single bar venues, no smoking will be allowed within 1m of service areas.
Smoking would be banned in all other enclosed workplaces and enclosed public spaces, SA Health Minister Lea Stevens said.
A full smoking ban in all hotels, clubs and the Adelaide casino will come into force in 2007.
Ms Stevens said that although fines could be imposed for breaking the new laws, a grace period would apply.
"This is about achieving long-term change, and we will be working cooperatively with businesses, venues and individuals over the first few months in particular to teach them about the new laws and help them to comply, rather than taking a punitive approach," she said.
"That does not mean people or businesses can wilfully ignore the laws, but that there will be a common sense and cooperative approach to policing the new laws."
