Gophers wrecked

"Because of some of the people's ages, it is very hard to get insured. We have one gentleman with brain damage and it was his only means of transport," he said.
Eight residents in a retirement village had their gophers stolen and wrecked , allegedly by kids. People in the  neighbourhood had heard the kdis but no one could seem to report anything which could allow the police to catch them. Police found five of them which were wrecked and had their batteries removed. This all happened in the early hours of the morning so it is quite difficult to be alert at that time. They might have been behind electronic gates but they seem to have been useless. Obviously the scooters can be started and used far too easily. They cannot be insured because the residents are to old, so anyone who buys a gopher/scooter needs to be aware there are some real risks here and considering how expensive they are then I'd say it ought to be better than this for the elderly and infirm. Security cameras in retirement villages would appear to be desirable as would proper locking devices on the scooters. So , what else can the batteries be used for? I know I should ask who knows if their children were out in the early hours of the morning...but some parents have no idea where their children are.
