HECS debts

"The list of biggest HECS debts, obtained for the first time by The Sunday Telegraph, shows one student has accumulated a staggering university bill of $310,497."

I paid my daughter's fees up front and she has been repaying me. It saved her 25%. I was outraged that 25% would be added on for the people who can least afford it. Some poele will never pay the HECS debt back and it has been a very poorly conceived way of getting people to study. It has allowed for people to buy a place at our universities but it has also meant people have gone out into their young lives will ridiculous sums to repay. Decide whether they have to pay or not...but this fee has created some disturbing consequences and needs to be reviewed.
