AdelaideNow... Missing Adelaide man found at the pub
MISSING Adelaide man Hugh Browne has been found drinking beer in a Riverland hotel while police were looking for him at the Royal Adelaide Show.
That is good news indeed and it sounds like he just wanted to get away from it all and have a bit of fun. The problem is there appears to have been nothing in place to keep him safe. Having left the nursing home there appears to be no protocol to check he was okay. Maybe he was deemed well enough and trustworthy to look after himself, but he was in a nursing home. Maybe he should have been out with a companion? The Riverland is quite a way from the show, so he must have had a plan to go there. Does he come form the Riverland? He seems like he was okay and maybe he didn't have a mobile, or didn't know how to use one and then didn't let the nursing home know he had gone so far away. I think he just wanted his freedom and seems to have had a chance to let loose and just enjoy the company of others. You can't lock them up, but you need to be able to keep the oldies safe. That is easier said than done, that's for sure and the good news is the community rallied to keep him safe.
