Workplace bullying is rife for the two main reasons cited in most workplace bullying information sites : constant change and multiple bosses. It opens the whole thing up to lack of structure, lack of protocol and lack of responsibility. It is worse because psychological abuse can be played out until people break down physically or mentally and it looks as though they "just can't take the job any more." It is not always as overt as sexual bullying.It is often as simple as making someone's job far to big and intense or not allowing people access to a chain of command. The tactics are listed there and you can just tick the boxes these days .Manipulation is the name of the game.Lack of structure has led to lack of consideration.We are all talking about it because we are all involved in change in the workplace and we can all see what is happening but no one wants to take control...and I think that's the whole point. This way no one is held accountable for the health and welfare of their workers...and they can replace older, experienced workers with cheaper young ones whom they burn out and replace too.
