Teacher shortages are much worse

Teacher shortages are much worse: "'We have teachers who are not trained to be language teachers who are teaching junior language classes. These things are not in the interests of high quality education.'"

Probably why the students are not going to uni and TAFE as was reported the other day...they have been swindled, undertaught and simply do not have the skills to manage an tertiary course. So how many who enrol in uni drop out in the first year? We need to put well trained teachers in our classrooms if we want to keep up globally. Patching up is not going to work. It's a cost cutting exercise. And didn't they report in the news that students were not selecting teaching as a course of study? Preparing young people is a key position and an investment in the future of any country. All we'll do is lose out. Wake up, Australia! The best resource we can have is well educated teachers!!
