Rudd urges cricketers to behave

Rudd urges cricketers to behave: "'It's great if we could see in the future more and more opportunities for greater and greater civility to permeate the veins of the game,'' Mr Rudd said."

From Boxing day onwards , cricket is normally a big part of our lives and day and it is normally compelling stuff which we talk about a lot. This year we have been fed up with the sniping, the power games, the manipulation, the money , the targeting of individuals and we are disheartened and have turned our interests to other things. This test has had nothing to do with cricket and has constantly been undermined by other issues which have variously frustrated and flummoxed us. Our team would have to change over at some time or another but there is nothing natural about the changing members so we are questioning that. Last year when India came out it was great. Fantastic cricket and great matches. Now all we seem to do is argue and carry on. Maybe things will change. Maybe cricket will never be cricket again. We are ready for that because we have found other interests. Damn shame, all the same. Cricket was a fundamental to our Christmas and New year . We haven't had a chance to really enjoy and revel in the play and the players and that has been disappointing.
