Delinquent teen sent to Siberia

Delinquent teen sent to Siberia : "The adolescent committed a rash of violent crimes in his home state of Hesse and was committed to a children's psychiatric treatment centre before juvenile authorities decided last summer to send him to the Russian tundra."

The article doesn't say whether the stay in Siberia improved the boy or not. There is heated debate about sending juveniles out of Germany but if it works and helps the child get a different perspective, then that is good...especially when they are so destructive. He went to school and was in a small village. I sometimes think that what we lack is that sense of community and it's why people are falling apart one way or another. So, does it improve them?
