It's Christmas. The mother believes her son is getting better. If that is what she thinks, that is what she truly believes.I don't doubt the medical people are considering this carefully. He is 29 and has a severed spine. The mother needs Christmas and a bit of time. It would be such an enormous blow before Christmas and she probably wants to know he is still there. She will come to terms with reality, but that is her son. Arguing about the rights and wrongs is irrelevant. The mother doesn't want her son to die.
