US wildfires force mass evacuations : "'Throughout the region, more than 30,000 acres [12,000 hectares] have already burned, and more areas are threatened. The wildfires have caused the loss of human life and serious injuries,' the Governor's statement added."
I feel so sorry for the people in California. Bushfires are awful, just awful I hope they have enough fire fighting power and equipment to help them because this sounds as severe as we have had in NSW and it is exhausting and traumatic for the fire fighters who just have to carry on relentlessly. I hope they have plenty of back up and our thoughts are with them. Hopefully the weather will change a bit to help them because strong winds just make it so terribly difficult.
