AdelaideNow... Mum saves girl, 5, from dog attack: "The mother - who is eight month's pregnant - continually beat the dog with a stick and managed to scoop her hysterical daughter up before the animal also turned on her, inflicting a deep bite on her arm."
I learned my lesson with two dogs and small children. It's just too hard to manage and the dogs and children can become quite different at any given moment. I had a large dog which was happy to have hats, beds, sunglasses and goodness knows what else put on and then one day she didn't want any children or cats in the home! The other dog had been jealous from the start so I knew it and could manage that. I so feel for this mother and she must have been beside herself with panic and distress. It was her child. It was her dog and she had her coming baby to think about as well. Another parent who has weighed it up very quickly and done a great job of managing. Poor thing. I how she is all right. It'll take a while and the little girl will take a while to get over it too.
