Lohan, Spears 'make mockery of rehab'

AdelaideNow... Lohan, Spears 'make mockery of rehab': "'In some ways it's starting to make rehabs look like a joke and that's very sad because hundreds of thousands of people a year are saved.'"

Well, no, the rehabs are hardly a problem if they are actually rehabilitating so many people. It's not the rehabs. The stars are not actually staying there to benefit from the programmes and so they have not been rehabilitated. They are in denial and not yet ready to face their truth, which is a bit unfortunate. It means they are really not in control and it also means their pulling power as high profile people cannot be used to better the lives of the people who have made them stars. It also tends to suggest that they are not at all coping with their high profile status. Addiction is a great leveller. It doesn't care who you are. If it's got you and you are one of the 10 percent who really is an addict, then it boils down to whether you can follow through on a programme to help you or whether you choose to let addiction do what it does so well.
