AdelaideNow... Mice point to cure for baldness: "The study, published in the British journal Nature, is all the more surprising because it reproduces results observed 50 years ago in rabbits, mice and humans that were widely dismissed at the time and have been ignored ever since."
This recent study which has revived the approach of an older study is really very good news and it's nice to know that scientists haven't given up on baldness. It sounds as though it could be relatively easily repaired. I remember visiting my mother on the day all her hair was falling out because of her chemotherapy treatment. She said she didn't know what to do with it and how to feel. Then she said she thought of all those men who lose their hair and no one actually cared about how they felt, so she just got on with it. It was a very pointed statement. We just expect men to get on with it and there are other diseases where people lose their hair and this could be very welcome news which would bring them such relief.
