Combustion fears spark feet warmer recall. : "The product is designed as a foot warmer and contains a heat pack, to be warmed in the microwave before it is placed on the feet."
Ah, yes, the let's just warm it in the microwave!! That is so fraught with disaster. It depends on the microwave, I think. Those sorts of heat them up things are a hazard and it's unfortunate. Some microwaves seem to be more sensitive than others and some microwaves seem to be very particular. I came home with a lovely microwave slice recipe from my friend. I made it and before I knew it there was smoke pouring out of my microwave and I had baked a sculpture, not a slice. I rang my friend and I had got all the ingredients and weights right. My microwave just didn't like the slice! I also tried those wheat bags in my other microwave. It's my other microwave because one of the bags caught on fire...lovely!! We've also melted containers which are not supposed to melt and wrapping which is supposed to be microwave safe. I don't think we have shared our experiences enough on microwaves. It doesn't happen with everything and it doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't happen to all microwaves, well, we need to share all of this and get to the bottom of it.
