Binge-drinking culture a 'ticking timebomb' : "They say governments have been complacent about tackling the crisis systematically because they are influenced by generous political donations from the alcohol industry and huge tax revenues from alcohol sales."
Governments, parents and society. Absolutely. We are going to pay big time for this. I overheard some young girls about 14 when I was in the shops planning to get one of their friends absolutely and totally blind drunk that night. It was hard not to hear. They were so loud and it all sounded very normal to them. Probably the girls who stumble down my street about 12 on a Saturday night. They are about 13 or 14 and can hardly walk. If I have been driving or if I am awake I always listen out. They are so vulnerable out there in that state. Who knows what the teachers can do with them during the week at school, so the kids are going to be physically debilitated and not at all prepared to be used in the work force. They are complete liabilities and very high maintenance units now. They will be a drain on everyone, but we let it happen we were so clever.
