Beware the psycho boss

Beware the psycho boss, the new enemy within : "'They don't give a damn about anyone but they are very charming. They manipulate their way to success by conning those above them and exploiting those below them,' he said."

There are bosses and there are administrators. Bosses are people persons and line the people up with the organisational objectives and examine the objectives if they create too much damage to people. The are leaders , carers and they know how to get the best fit when it comes to working people who have to work with this constant overlay of productivity and documentation. Administrators are about structure and process and so people issues are not relevant. They implement structures. I hadn't actually thought of them as psychopathic, but maybe this is so because they keep thinking people can do whatever the structure requires and if they cannot, or if workers raise genuine concerns then they are dispensable and someone else is put in. The article lists the 5 give aways of psychopathic bosses. Maybe they are the ones who make you feel totally inadequate all the time or expect you not to have any human traits and discount your knowledge, skills and experience if you cannot make something worthwhile of their processes and structures. Certainly worth a thought because increasingly we have administrators and more and more workers are becoming stressed, distressed and are breaking down in one way or another. We were never this hopeless!
