Tourism council calls for climate summit

Tourism council calls for climate summit: "Australian Tourism Export Council spokesman Matthew Hingerty said the IPCC report would send a shiver down the spine of the tourism industry, and he had urged Environment Minister Malcolm Turnbull to call a joint summit."

Well, yes, it would be good if global leaders would actually take this seriously and provide some positive and useful direction instead of more hot air to add to what we already have. If they are not bothered and we all are, what does that suggest? If they think they have time to faf around and we actually believe we need to take strategic action and change what we are doing, what does it say about them? World leaders make the odd comment and provide the odd bit of lip service but there are no serious commitments to real change. We want change, we have proven ourselves. Why don't they? Tourism will be affected everywhere so we'll all be grounded. Who will want to visit a dry, dusty bowl with dead trees, burning forests and bleched reefs? Who will want to visit places in ice storms, tornadoes, earth quakes, floods. Doesn't seem to bother our world leaders much. Surprising, really.
