Government water-wasters

Government water-wasters held to account : "'I think the public was very happy to go along with restrictions and to make a bit of an extra effort in terms of water saving, but I think the public is getting angry at the failure by Government to look at dams, to look at desalination, to look at recycling and now we're seeing the Government itself increase its water usage by 25 per cent,' she said."

And she, Louise Asher could not have said it better. We all need to look after the water. We all need to keep the Murray flowing. We all need to put water for food as a priority and we all need to do our bit. There is no excuse and hiding behind business and commerce is not a reason to be lax. It's something we can take on if we motivate ourselves and get into some better habits. We are water wasters and we have the figures to prove it. Householders are doing their bit. We all came out on New Year's Day with our printed instructions for the level 3 restrictions. It was so funny really and there was a good community feel about it...we stood there for a good half hour with our print materials confirming the new routines and how we would manage it as we worked. It was such good neighbourly stuff...and so we all dutifully watered at 8.30pm in a much better frame of mind. People are everything and change is action.
