Ban on glossy annual reports

AdelaideNow... Ban on glossy annual reports: "Department of Premier and Cabinet chief executive Warren McCann has issued instructions for electronic copies only to be produced at the end of this financial year."

Unless you really need to impress, then a report is a report...a run down on what has occurred. True, people like things to look impressive and classy, but an annual report can look just as classy online in an electronic format. It's not just about the cost, and heaven knows, governments really need to think of the way they waste money on printing which could be used to supply essential services, it's about the environment as well. How many people value these reports? How many just shelve them or bin them and they are never touched again? I think you always have to make a few print copies but printers these days can turn out some nice looking stuff. We need to save money, we need to save trees and we need to save toxins going into our soil. So gold stars and plus points to Warren McCann and his capacity to make a good decision.
