Rudd 'seeking return to bad old days'

AdelaideNow... Rudd 'seeking return to bad old days':

"'On the one hand they would like to say we are modern and we embrace the Hawke and the Keating reforms but on the other hand we'd like to return to stone age, to the pre-Hawke and Keating age with industry policy which is code for being anti-economic reform,' he said."

So, what did Mr. Rudd actually say? I cannot seem to easily find anything which reports verbatim the words of Mr. Rudd. I found something about NSW being pleased having a federal labour leader ready to work with them. A country's health and wealth is built on primary industry. We xeem to be putting all our effort into secondary and tertiary industry particularly manufacturing, mining and hospitality. We need healthy primary industry to sustain us. At the moment ABW is up the spout and has lost our confidence and we are importing Canadian GM canola. Our trade figures? Are we trading well? If we are exporting more than importing then yes we are. Are our businesses thriving? I heard the thriving has somehow stopped. So let's get some facts, figures and information before us.

The bad old days? What were they? We had jobs we could manage. We had solid, enviable health care. We had bank accounts we could hold in our hands and no nonsense fees. We were not tied to a computer. We had reliable utilities. Farmers farmed, fishermen fished. Kids went to school and stayed there. If we made a mistake, we said sorry and we thought about how we affected others. Yes. It was really bad. Good job we cannot go back there.
