Labor's male-dominated frontbench criticised.

Labor's male-dominated frontbench criticised. :

"'No it's not a good look for the Labor Party but I think the balance will restore itself eventually,' she said."

I think we have to get real. Women are not surviving in politics and clearly there is work to be done in toughening them up and making them able to survive. Too many good women politicians have been sacrificed in different political arenas. I think we have to look at the women who do manage the job and can stay stable in this arena because it is worse to see great woman fall apart and then leave politics. In a country which believes only one party has the capacity to govern and thinks other parties and the voters do not know what they are talking about, then I think Mr. Rudd has to try and play it as he sees it and unfortunately it's hardball. Given how many politicians have been sacrificed over the last 10 years and how many parties have suffered, I think we have to do and try what works or we shall have no democracy. What is the point of voting for one party? Where's the growth? Where's the innovation? Where's the inspiration and where is the channel for our priorities as a nation? I think the women need to rally and commit themselves to this problem solving task which has been evident. It's not currently about equity...it's about survival. Women are only useless and replaced if that is what they act out.
