Hundreds go ape

AdelaideNow... Hundreds go ape:

"They will be given toys and puzzles to stimulate their mental skills and some food will be hidden each day to encourage the humans to forage for food.

A spa bath will be available for relaxation plus participants will be able to use exercise equipment to maintain physical activity levels."

Bit of score evening time for the animals with humans volunteering to be part of the human zoo next year in January at Adelaide Zoo. It's a bit of a mix, really, with a competition, a challenge and a chance to observe and make scientific investigations. It'll be bloomin' hot in the enclosure. If nothing else the volunteers will be able to clearly direct zoo keepers about how we can better look after our animals. At this stage I am not in favour of it and I am not in favour of animals being locked up either. My argument falls down when I know we are destroying the natural environments of animals and zoos are increasingly becoming places which regenerate and care for endangered species. The more able we are to humanise zoos, the better for the animals.
