"'The victory belongs to Italy, to Grosso, to Cannavaro, to Zambrotta, to Buffon, to Maldini, to everyone who loves Italian soccer!... (Australia) should go home. They don't need to go as far away as Australia as most of them are living in Europe. Farewell!'"
When Huang Jianxiang gave his anti Australian rant, we just laughed. We criticise our own so much there is no way an outsider can offend us. We found it hilarious because he had no idea. The Australians with Italian links were over the moon so we were in a win-win situation. We weren't happy our Socceroos went down to Italy but the Italian -Australians were in full on party mode and lifted our spirits. The cup was us getting there after years and years of never being there. The Chinese commentary was seen as hilarious not offensive. It's a pity he has resigned, particularly if he had to resign over this. If he came here he'd realise it's an even playing field and we can give as good as we get but we don't mind people getting carried away in the heat of the moment. You've forgotten...Australians are expert at destroying formality and protocol.
