Downer plays down pullout talk

AdelaideNow... Downer plays down pullout talk:

"'Nobody wants to stay in Iraq for one minute longer than is necessary and the definition of necessary is whether the Iraqi regime can survive without the support of some foreign troops,' he said."

This need not have happened , you know. All the calming talk in the world will not bring back the unnecessary dead nor resolve the ongoing blood bath. It's about getting a plan which will work...so which plan is that because the current one is shot to pieces.
