Aviation industry prepares for drug testing.

Aviation industry prepares for drug testing. :

"Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Peter Gibson says while there have not been any significant incidents or accidents related to drugs and alcohol, there is evidence it is a contributory factor."

Sadly we are past the age of trust. Doctors, pilots, train drivers would not previously have taken drugs or drunk too much alcohol. These days you just don't know because some of these drugs are just so damned trendy, cooler than cool and everyone has fallen victim to the dab hand marketing ploys. So, I guess we have to look at the facts and take it from there. Some jobs like aviation, train driving, crane driving, surgery etc etc are going to have to be screened because there have been mishaps and if we know about those , there will be others we don't know about. We have to look after ourselves. By the same token I also think planes are a closed environment and that passengers too should be subject to similar expectations since there have been passengers, too, who have made life hell for every one on the plane. It comes down to the staff to manage them and they have enough to worry about. It'd certainly put a cat among the pigeons, heh?!
