AdelaideNow... For SA, life just keeps getting better:
"The Attitudes of Australians to Happiness and Social Wellbeing report says one-third of South Australians believe life in Australia is getting better."
Doesn't take much to keep us happy, really. We like our team winning. We like to know the kids are all right and we have a nice home. We'll get happy because we have a new gadget or we are throwing a BBQ. The good thing about Adeliade is people will share your excitement about anything. You might be thrilled to bits because your friends is off to tour China or Europe, but you can be just as excited because someone had their nails done or because their fish had babies. If we think Australia is getting better it will be tied to how we feel about ourselves. We like a nice latte, a walk on the beach. We like to know things are going well for other people. When things go bad we are there with the sympathy or the peace and quiet. We let people be when they are bothered as long as it is not interfering with us. When it's sunny we get floppy and a lot of Adeliadians are actually enjoying cold weather these days. We just take things as they come. We'll act when we have to. We don't like social injustice and we don't like people thinking we are stupid...but we'll joke about how long it'll take us to have a serious thought. We will discuss things in depth when we want to, but we won't if we don't feel like it. Some people think that means we're thick. We just talk to people when we think there is a need, otherwise we keep it fairly friendly. We have all, however, been talking about how far the clock has gone back and we shake our heads because we worked hard as SA to move things forward.
