Echidna on road to recovery

Echidna on road to recovery :

"The short-beaked echidna was brought to Sydney's Taronga Zoo for expert attention after being hit by a car and picked up by the roadside at Cessnock in the New South Wales Hunter Valley."

I love it when we get stories like this. We have aways been ones to save the poor, injured animals and I remember a lady at work quite a few years ago bringing a fawn to work and sleeping with it at night to keep it warm and safe and everyone fussing over the wee fawn until it was strong enough to go out into the field again. I also was amazed to see a school girl going out intot he middle of a road to help save a little black puppy which was so terrifies and she scooped it up and cuddled it off somewhere. Poeple here are usually very kind to animals and it is very not us to be cruel. Those stoires are so offensive. I bet every country has its wild life rescue tales. This echidna had severe cuts and a broken foot. They do tend to wander over the road and they do get hit and it's sad. Thank goodness the zoo could fix Cess and mix up a brew to keep it going!
