Cigarette butts top beach rubbish

Cigarette butts top beach clean-up rubbish:

"More than 450,000 volunteers removed 8.2 million pounds of debris from 18,000 miles of coastline and waterways in 74 countries during the day-long clean-up in September, the Ocean Conservancy said in a report released yesterday. The group has sponsored the worldwide volunteer effort for 20 years."

Yes, a lot of kind souls get out there and clean up our beaches...something which would not need to happen if we just thought a bit. Took our own rubbish away. Considered others and the environment. It can be done and most beaches have rubbish bins. The French news had a tractor which goes along its more popular beaches and it somehow sifts out all the rubbish and makes the sand look clean and new. The people were very appreciative. I suppose those tractors cost a lot but it's a fantastic idea.
